Chocolate Pecan Turtles

We just had our first snow of the season here in Delaware. Looks like we got about four inches overnight! This is very unusual for us as we usually have only a few light sprinkles of snow each winter, mostly in January and February.

So it is a good time to stay inside and prepare for Christmas. And one of the favorite holiday candies that is easy to make at home is Chocolate Pecan Turtles. According to Wikipedia , these candies, which are made of pecans, caramel and chocolate, were developed by candy chef "Gordy" Hooper of San Francisco, California in the early 1930s. Later they were trademarked by the Swiss multinational food company Nestlé and became one of their most successful line of candies.

There are many ways you can make Chocolate Pecan Turtles at home. You can find some easy recipes on the Web at

Christmas Lights

Each year my family and I make hot cocoa, load into the car, pop in some Christmas music and go "Christmas Light Looking". As with many other families we say we do it for our children, but secretly love it just as much.

While "Christmas Light Looking" come to Downtown Milford and enjoy the park and streets, all of the historic homes and businesses that are lit up for the holidays. Drive by LadyBug Shop and see that we have totally decked out the shop with lights, garland and bows! And if you have time stop by the Santa House for a visit with Santa.
